Narok Residents for Diaspora 2012 Candidates

Lekuton from Narok County, a shop owner in Narok town, welcomes the idea of Diaspora Kenyans being part of 2012 race. He says, “Not even the Maasai’s will be left behind if the Diaspora are true to their word and improve Kenya’s economy. This will mean the gap between the rich and the poor decreases and youths get jobs.” This is in reference to the statement, “Kenyans in Diaspora through an initiative by Dr. Wilson Endege of Harvard, Boston have started organizing themselves to create a platform capable of moving Kenya from $65b to $200b economy (2012-2017) as population grows to 45 million. Per Capita would climb to $4,400 = 200b/45m and Kenya would climb one-step.”

Future Leader of Bungoma County

The Pan Paper Mills recently got a new Managing Director and a promise by Government to provide KES500 Million which is yet to materialize! Nzoia Sugar Company is struggling with a debt it owes to farmers in excess of KES 500 million and farmers are threatening to uproot their sugarcane crop because of poor pay! Sugar today is one of the most expensive commodities selling at Kshs 200 (about $2.10) which is even higher than the U.S at about $1.35 for same quantity. These are the stories of Bugoma County. A ray of hope could emerge through sale and capitalization system to make these industries be owned by local people and Diaspora Kenyans as shareholders. “The debt can be turned into shares and farmers become the owners of the factory they produce the sugar cane for and control the management to benefit them rather than keep fighting and threatening to uproot,” is one of the suggestions aired. Another, “Through Capitalization of Diaspora Kenyans, Kenyans in Kenya especially Residents in Bugoma can inject the KES 500 million toward Pan Paper Mills rather than wait to be overtaxed so this money can materialize.” ...

Vihiga County Earmarked for Bio-Technology Research Park

“The former Maragoli Hills forest was illegally harvested for profit by a former DC of Vihiga, an action that contributed enormously to the drying up of Wamobolea and Hambubo springs which supplied residents with water,” notes Dr. Endege showing recorded stories in the internet.
